The discovery of this contradictory vanilla<\/strong> immediately drew me back into my research for the creation of \u201cLouanges Profanes\u201d<\/a> (2009).
\nCharles Baudelaire<\/em>\u2019s work illustrated for me how, in the most beautiful of ways, human passion can borrow the sacred vocabulary to the point of blasphemy. \u201cA une Madone\u201d <\/em>(to a madonna), an excerpt from Les Fleurs du Mal<\/a><\/em>, depicts a ritual in which the Baudelairean woman is both a resplendent divinity and a purely carnal Being, inflaming her senses with a destructive desire for possession.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Through \u201cA une Madone\u201d<\/em> I attempt to reproduce the contradictory architecture of the Louanges Profanes in which the innocent purity<\/strong> of Neroli confronted the lasciviousness<\/strong> of Benzoin. This time, since Uganda Vanilla alone contains this sensory duality<\/strong>, I have simply amplified each of its facets. Cardamom<\/strong> and Sandalwood<\/strong> naturally underline the greedy and sensual curves<\/strong> of the vanilla pods, while Castoreum<\/strong>, Civet<\/strong>, Myrrh<\/strong>, Styrax<\/strong>, Gaiac<\/strong> and Gurjum<\/strong> increase their magnetism tenfold<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
