For this 4th French boutique, perfumer Pierre GUILLAUME and architect François LEBEL continue to map the codes and DNA of the House of Pierre Guillaume by imagining a narrative and spacious place.
The Pierre GUILLAUME Manufacture boutique is a hybrid space exploring the concept of “poetic brutalism”. The space is a large monochrome box covered from floor to ceiling with the same gray hue suggesting the bareness and radical simplicity of concrete.
The visitor seems at first to be immersed in a volume with a deliberately synthetic and uniform aspect from which, little by little, the eye will be able to make emerge from these tense surfaces and underlined by lines of light, a precise assembly of textures going from vinyl to granite.
Then the incident: this sanitized and smooth vessel is literally torn in its angle by a spur of volcanic rock that projects to the center of the volume, becoming the promontory of a bronze cub. Work of the sculptor Roland Cognet, it seems to evolve in balance, imposing its animal presence on the spectator, an invitation to calm and contemplation.
