Creating for a Market
or Creating in the Absolute...

I compose almost every day… through trial and error, new formulas are added daily to the Codex (database of formulas). Some of them seem destined to join the PIERRE GUILLAUME PARIS House catalogue sooner or later because of their emotional impact, their innovative aspect or their ability to fill a gap in customer demand.

On the other hand, others, with their design oscillating between the beautiful and the bizarre, the difficulty of classifying them in a precise olfactory family or their singularity, do not seem to be spontaneously addressed to a predefined market or targeted personalities… they are olfactory forms created in the absolute… objects of contemplation to which the viewer must give allegiance, aesthetically speaking.

In this spirit, in 2016 we unveiled a series of 12 limited edition creations called “Collection Rhapsodie”, which can be viewed exclusively in our Paris and Clermont-Ferrand boutiques.

Through this new “Contemplation Collection”, the PG Creation Studio releases 8 olfactory works to experience in our boutiques.

The way the pandemic has affected travel has motivated us to make this collection available on our website (which was not the case for Rhapsodie) and perhaps at certain strategic geographic partners…

Our emblematic bottle, adorned with a lapis lazuli blue, is delivered to the raw lights of video artist Nicolas Debonne, who puts this collection on camera. Nicolas Debonne’s camera takes a surgical look at his subject, presented without make-up or retouching, and plunged into a cold and crafted reality. Light and music, tuned in a millimetric way, literally hit the subject, plunging it into a sober theatricality, sparing of means, with hypnotic efficiency.
